Overview

Revised 11th May 2018

In September 2015 the Adult Social Care and Health Policy Committee approved the Direct Payment Policy requiring all Personal Assistants to have a Disclosure and Barring Service check as a mandatory requirement. We are now implementing this policy.

The role of a Personal Assistant involves regulated activity therefore it is a statutory requirement for an enhanced DBS and barred list check to be undertaken.

Nottinghamshire County Council, as a DBS umbrella organisation already provide more than 10,000 checks for other Nottinghamshire organisations and  will undertake the appropriate check for PAs on behalf of the individual employer

We are consulting with you on the proposal to use the DBS service provided by NCC . Please complete this short survey

These checks help you as an employer make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups. The information that you provide in this survey will be anonymous and will be used to help inform our decision-making in the provision of this service.

If you are interested in attending one of briefing sessions, where we will address any questions raised through this survey, we will require contact details, but these will be used solely for this purpose and will not be shared with any other organisations.

If you have any further questions about this consultation please email dpenquiries@nottscc.gov.uk
