Future planning for Day Opportunities and Short Breaks Questionnaire

Overview

What the day opportunities review is about:

Nottinghamshire County Council are looking at the way that people are supported during the day and how they are able to access short breaks.  We want to make a plan for how to improve services in the future and we would like your input into this.

We want to make sure that day opportunities and short breaks work for family carers as well as the people they care for.  We know that through day opportunities and short breaks carers are supported to carry out their caring role and also to look after their own health and wellbeing such as being able to have a break from caring, maintaining their own health and wellbeing and having a job.

The COVID-19 pandemic has meant that services have had to be delivered in more innovative and diverse ways than would previously have been the case and the ongoing risks presented mean it will not be possible to return to how things were for quite some time, if at all.  Some building-based services have reopened to deliver Covid-secure support, however the measures needed to ensure a safe environment make the experience quite different as activities and socialising are limited.

The recent government announcements about a further extended period of restrictions mean that it is important that we learn from the experiences of people accessing services during this time to help strengthen the offer during this ongoing Covid phase and also to plan for the future. We would like your help to do this.

You can provide your views by completing this questionnaire.  Sharing your opinions with us will help us to plan future services and what you tell us will help us to see what may need to change in the future.
