Short Breaks Review – Parent / Carer Questionnaire

Closed 22 Sep 2017

Opened 3 Jul 2017

Overview

Short Breaks provide opportunities for disabled children and young people to spend time away from their primary carers and take part in activities, as well as, providing time for parents and carers to rest or to do other activities they value.  Further information about short breaks can be found on the Nottinghamshire Local Offer, including the County Council's current statement on its short breaks provision.

Nottinghamshire County Council is undertaking a review of its short breaks offer for children and young people with disabilities, and their parents and carers.  To ensure  that the revised short breaks offer best meets the needs of families we will be co-producing the revised offer with children and young people with disabilities and their parents and carers.

The County Council will be working with the Nottinghamshire Parent Carer Forum to design and deliver this review.

The review will need to consider a range of options to ensure the revised short breaks offer meets the needs of the most vulnerable children and young people, and is sustainable going forward.  In addition, families have been telling us for some time that the current offer is too complicated to understand and access. The review will therefore also provide the opportunity to help design a more user-friendly offer.

It is really important that we hear your views, and we would like to invite you to complete this short questionnaire. For families completing the questionnaire there will also be the chance to win one of 3 £25 vouchers.

We are also arranging a number of consultation events over the summer for families to attend and provide their feedback. These events will be published on the Nottinghamshire Local Offer.
