Review of flat rate charges in Adult Social Care

Closes 7 Dec 2025

Opened 4 Nov 2025

Overview

Nottinghamshire County Council is reviewing its flat rate charges for adult social care services for 2026/27. Flat rate charges are set fees for specific services such as transport, financial services, technology enabled care that are not means-tested.

These charges are permitted under the Care Act 2014 and associated regulations, which allow councils to apply discretionary fees to cover administrative and other costs for certain services.

The council also proposes to review the fee charged for home-based care whilst in reablement which is means tested.

This consultation seeks your views on the fairness, affordability, and impact of these charges, as well as asking for your views on any alternative ways the council could fund these services. Your feedback will help shape future policy and ensure charges are set transparently and sustainably.
