Bridge Children’s Centre building, Newark - Changes to a Children’s Centre Service building

Closed 19 Apr 2024

Opened 1 Apr 2024

Overview

Whenever we plan to make changes to a Children’s Centre building, we are required to consult with local parents/carers and other interested parties.

This consultation will be available online at Nottinghamshire County Council’s Citizen Space and paper copies of the questionnaire will be available through the Newark Children’s Centre Service team, at the building and Newark Library.

The Bridge Children’s Centre building is mostly used by a day nursery provider called Country Kids. Country Kids provide childcare for children under the age of 5. As part of the expansion of funded childcare places, (including for the first-time childcare funding support for babies), we would like to make the whole building available for childcare provision. Local data tells us that we need more childcare places because more children will be eligible for funded childcare from April 2024.

Currently, the Children’s Centre Service team only use the building for one day a week to provide an ‘Under 1’s’ Group, attended by a small number of parents.  Children’s Centre Services will continue at a number of community venues, such as the library and in family homes, as well as at Hawtonville Children’s Centre, so there will be no loss in service.

This consultation aims to get your views on our plans to use all of the building for childcare and should take around five minutes to complete.
