North Worksop: Rhodesia Children’s Centre

Closed 18 Jan 2021

Opened 7 Dec 2020

Overview

Over recent years the Government has expanded early years education and childcare provision for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.

  • To help make sure there is enough provision, where families need it, Nottinghamshire County Council is working with schools and early years childcare providers to use some Children’s Centres buildings differently.
  • Here in Rhodesia we are working closely with Haggonfields Primary School and the Southwell and Nottingham Diocese Multi Academy Trust to develop plans for School to take over responsibility for the Children’s Centre building, so the building can be used more regularly for young children and their families.
  • Children’s Centre Services will continue from the other Children’s Centre buildings in Worksop at Gateford, Manton and Prospect Kilton along with services such as one to one Family Support, Let’s Play and Home Talk continuing to be offered in family homes, throughout the week.  Due to Covid, we are also offering services virtually via ZOOM.

Is your child eligible for a free early years place?

  • 2 year olds: From September 2015, the Government has been providing funding for eligible 2 year olds for up to 15 hours per week.
  • 3 and 4 year olds: All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to 15 funded hours per week, from the term after their third birthday.

For working parents earning less than £100,000 each a year, their 3 and 4 year olds can have funding for up to 30 hours per week.

You can check whether you are eligible for the extended entitlements by visiting: www.childcarechoices.gov.uk
