Expansion of Childcare Support Survey 2023

Closed 26 Jan 2024

Opened 13 Nov 2023

Overview

The financial support that is available to parents to help with the cost of childcare is increasing. These include major changes to make it easier for parents with childcare responsibilities to move into or take on more paid work. Starting from April 2024, existing childcare support will be expanded in phases.

By September 2025, eligible working parents with children aged between nine months old and statutory school age, will be able to access 30 hours of childcare support for 38 weeks of the year.

The childcare support expansion will be rolled out in stages, with:

  • April 2024 - 15 hours a week offered to all eligible two-year-olds, the term after their 2nd birthday
  • September 2024 - 15 hours a week offered to all eligible children from the term after a child turns nine months old
  • September 2025 - 30 hours a week for all eligible children from the term after a child turns nine months old

Nottinghamshire County Council wants to gather the views of parents and soon-to-be parents to see how they currently use childcare, and how they will likely use childcare if they are eligible for the new entitlements. We expect the survey to take about five minutes to complete. Your answers will help us to determine how childcare needs may change as the new entitlements are implemented. Your feedback will help us to review current childcare levels and take steps to increase the number of places available should we need to.

You can find out more about how we will use your data collected in this survey by reading our Consultations and Surveys Privacy Notice [PDF].

This survey will close on Friday 26 January 2024
