Overview

Introduction to the Strategy

Nottinghamshire’s Looked After Children and Care Leavers Partnership Strategy is a plan that says what organisations are going to do to make sure the needs of looked after children and care leavers in Nottinghamshire are met.  Through this consultation we want to hear your views on the new version of the strategy that will start in early 2022 and run to the end of December 2025.

Introduction to the Partnership

The Strategy is the responsibility of Nottinghamshire’s Looked After Children and Care Leavers Strategic Partnership Board which is made up of all the organisations responsible for making sure care experienced children and young people have access to the opportunities and support they need to achieve their potential now and in the future.

Why we need your views on the new strategy

This strategy has been informed by the voices, experiences, thoughts and feelings of the care experienced children of Nottinghamshire.  For the new strategy to be a success, it needs the support of those involved in supporting our looked after children and care leavers to be happy, healthy, safe and achieve their potential.  These stakeholders include  foster carers, parents, as well as practitioners and decision makers working in organisations that provide services and support to them (including health, Police, schools and colleges, the County and district councils, accommodation providers and charities), as well as the children and young people themselves.

Therefore, the Partnership would very much welcome your views and comments on the draft strategy.  The consultation provides an opportunity for all partners and stakeholders, including children, young people, foster carers and parents, social workers and health practitioners to tell the Partnership their views on the draft strategy and to provide suggestions for its improvement.

How to give your views on the strategy

You can give your views on the draft strategy between 15th November and 19th December 2021.
