The future of County Hall
Overview
In July 2023 we made a historic decision to move out of the iconic County Hall based in West Bridgford, our headquarters since 1946.
Due to the age of the building and rise of home working, it is now too expensive to operate, maintain and bring up to modern environmental standards.
It is planned that we will move out 2025.
Being such a visible landmark, with its famous green roof and riverside location it is part of Nottinghamshire’s heritage.
We must now look to the future and give the building the new lease of life it deserves.
To do this, our main priorities are:
- Getting the views of residents, businesses and our staff to help us inform the next stage. This is particularly important given the site is located close to many local amenities and residential properties.
- Respecting the heritage of the site by retaining the green-roofed main building.
- Ensuring any final decision makes financial sense and takes no unnecessary risks.
Please tell us what is most important to you about the County Hall site and what you would want to see retained or improved as part of any future use or development.
