Nottinghamshire Women’s Health Survey

Closes 20 Dec 2024

Opened 18 Oct 2024

Overview

This survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. Your answers will:

  • Help us to identify key priorities for work in the Women’s Health agenda
  • Help us to understand how women want to access health and care services in Nottinghamshire
  • Help us to understand what it is like to be a woman in Nottinghamshire, and what helps to keep women in our county healthy.

In the UK women are living longer than men but spending more of their lives in ill health. The Women's Health Strategy for England (2022) also outlines that not enough focus is placed on women-specific issues like menopause or endometriosis, and women are under-represented when it comes to important clinical trials.

This may mean that women in Nottinghamshire are missing some key building blocks of health that are needed to help them thrive; building blocks can be things like good jobs, healthy food, good quality homes and education. There may be a number of reasons for this, and we want to understand this better by hearing Nottinghamshire women's experiences.

Nottinghamshire County Council also recognises that other groups, including men, also experience health inequalities, which are being addressed through other programmes of work.

At the end of the survey, you will be able to provide some personal details that will help us to identify whether we have reached a cross section of Nottinghamshire’s population. We will not be able to identify you from any of your answers. Your participation in this survey is completely voluntary, and you can stop at any time. You are also free to leave out any question that you do not want to answer.

Once all the surveys have been returned, we will produce a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment which will inform local planning to reduce the gap of years spent living in ill health between women and men in the county.

Thank you for taking part, and for helping us to understand what women in Nottinghamshire need to live their best lives.

When completing open text responses, please remember not to include personal or sensitive information in your response. Further information setting out how the council processes personal data is available on our website.

The survey will be open until 20 December 2024.

The questions are based on the following themes:

  • Health and wellbeing
  • Accessing health information
  • Accessing services
  • Caring responsibilities and work.
