A60 CARLTON ROAD AND THE BAULK, WORKSOP - PROPOSED PUFFIN CROSSING

Overview

Via East Midlands Ltd is working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver highway services across the county. The County Council has received requests for a pedestrian crossing along A60 Carlton Road, Worksop.

In response to these requests, a feasibility assessment was undertaken to identify the most suitable location for a crossing. The preferred option is a puffin crossing, which will be located on A60 Carlton Road, Worksop between its junction with The Baulk and Baulk Lane. This would provide a safer crossing point for pedestrians accessing Outwood Academy and Worksop Leisure Centre.

The crossing will include a controlled area, identified by the introduction of zig-zag road markings, within which stopping, parking and loading would be prohibited at all times.

In accordance with Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, I hereby enclose for your information the statutory public notice setting out Nottinghamshire County Council’s intention to introduce the toucan crossing on A60 Carlton Road, Worksop.

The public notice will be published in the Worksop Guardian and notices will be fixed on site. A plan showing the extents of the ‘No Stopping or No Loading At Any Time’ restrictions (Zig-Zag lines) is attached (Drawing Number TP2450420/TS03) along with a copy of the site notice.

This activity will open on 24 Jul 2026. Please come back on or after this date to give us your views.
