GERTRUDE ROAD AND RUTLAND ROAD, WEST BRIDGFORD – PROPOSED RAISED PLATEAU TRAFFIC CALMING – PUBLIC ADVERT

Closes 26 Nov 2025

Opened 23 Oct 2025

Overview

Via East Midlands Ltd is working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver highway services in Nottinghamshire.

As you may be aware, Nottingham City Council are currently constructing a new pedestrian/cycle bridge over the River Trent which will significantly reduce journey times and distances for those modes of travel.  The County Council has been allocated £3.25m through the Transforming Cities Fund (TCF) to improve strategic connection to and from the new bridge crossing and as a result is seeking to increase traffic safety at the junctions of Rutland Road and Gertrude Road, West Bridgford.

As part of these works it is proposed to install a raised plateau on Rutland Road which will be 20.5m long and have a 75mm high flat-topped hump (plateau). A further raised plateau is also proposed to be installed on Gertrude Road, which will be 10.5m long and have a 75mm high flat-topped hump (plateau).

As required under Section 90A - 90I of the Highways Act 1980 (traffic calming hump), I enclose the statutory public notice, stating the County Council’s intention to introduce one raised traffic calming plateau on Gertude Road, West Bridgford and one raised traffic calming plateau on Rutland Road, West Bridgford in the Borough of Rushcliffe.
