Overview

Via East Midlands Ltd is working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver highway services. It is proposed to reduce the speed limit from 50 mph to 40 mph at the following locations,

  • Nottingham Road, Thurgarton – 40mph speed limit to start approximatley 680 metres south-west of the existing 30mph speed limit.
  • Southwell Road, Thugarton-40mph speed limit starts at existing 30 mph speed limit in a north-easterly direction for approximately 660 metres.

It is also proposed to reduce the speed limit from the National speed limit to 40 mph

  • Bleasby Road- between the 30 mph speed limits at Thurgarton and Goverton.

The proposed 40mph speed limit will act as a buffer, encouraging drivers to reduce their speed before encountering the 30mph speed limit at the boundaries to the villages.
