THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (LANTERN LANE, SHARPLEY DRIVE, EAST LEAKE) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (NO STOPPING ON ENTRANCE CLEARWAYS) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024 (TRO 8385) AND PROVISION OF HUMPED ZEBRA CROSSING ON LANTERN LANE, EAST LEAKE

Closed 15 Oct 2024

Opened 17 Sep 2024

Overview

Via East Midlands Ltd is working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver highway services in Nottinghamshire.

Nottinghamshire County Council is proposing to extend the existing traffic calming to install a humped zebra crossing to assist pedestrians in crossing Lantern Lane to access both the primary and secondary schools and leisure centre.

To help facilitate the proposed zebra crossing, it is proposed to install Double Yellow Lines (No Waiting At Any Time) around the junction of Sharpley Drive along with Single Yellow Lines and School Keep Clear Marking (No Stopping Mon – Fri 8 am – 4.30 pm), in the area outside both of the schools and the Leisure Centre, as shown on attached plan.

The proposals are required to make it easier and safer for pedestrians to access the school and Leisure Centre and will help to improve conditions for buses accessing/egressing the school site and will improve visibility at the junctions.
