TRO 1340 ADVERT - LARWOOD AVENUE, WORKSOP - PROPOSED DOUBLE YELLOW LINES AND BUS STOP CLEARWAY
Overview
Via East Midlands Ltd, is working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver highway services in Nottinghamshire. Concerns have been raised about inconsiderate and obstructive parking on Larwood Avenue near to the build out at the GIVE WAY point on Lawrwood Avenue, Worksop.
To address this issue, it is therefore proposed to introduce ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restrictions (Double Yellow Lines), and to introduce a new 19 metre Bus Stop Clearway to be in operation 24 hours, as shown on drawing number H/CLW/5278/01. The advert will be published in the Worksop Guardian and notices will be displayed on site.
The County Council works closely with all public transport operators across the County to identify bus stops that suffer from inconsiderate parking. At the location above, a bus stop clearway is proposed that prohibits other vehicles from parking or waiting at any time at this bus stop, this will be clearly identified with new road markings and signage. The main benefits of bus stop clearways are to:
- Help the bus align with the kerb to enable better access for disabled passengers and pushchair users;
- Ease congestion as a correctly aligned bus will not block the road for other road users;
- Ensure that bus drivers discharge their duty to drop passengers off on the kerb and not on the road;
- Ensure that bus services operate on time and are not unnecessarily delayed
