TRO 2281 SEALED ORDER - BERRY HILL LANE AND SANDHURST AVENUE, MANSFIELD - PROHIBITION OF WAITING

Overview

The Prohibition of Waiting Order for Berry Hill Lane and Sandhurst Avenue, Mansfield was sealed on Wednesday 11th March 2026 and will come into force on Thursday 19th March 2026.

Via East Midlands Ltd is working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver Highway Services.

Nottinghamshire County Council has received complaints of obstructive and inconsiderate parking at the junction of Sandhusrt Avenue and Berry Hill Lane, Mansfield. To help alleviate the problems it is proposed to introduce double yellow lines (‘No Waiting at Any Time’) restrictions.

It is also proposed to introduce a new 19 metre Bus Stop Clearway to be in operation 24 hours.

The County Council works closely with all public transport operators across the County to identify bus stops that suffer from inconsiderate parking. At the location above, a bus stop clearway is proposed that prohibits other vehicles from parking or waiting at any time at this bus stop, this will be clearly identified with new road markings and signage. The main benefits of bus stop clearways are to:

  • Help the bus align with the kerb to enable better access for disabled passengers and pushchair users;
  • Ease congestion as a correctly aligned bus will not block the road for other road users;
  • Ensure that bus drivers discharge their duty to drop passengers off on the kerb and not on the road;
  • Ensure that bus services operate on time and are not unnecessarily delayed.

Therefore, double yellow lines (‘No Waiting At Any Time’) restrictions have been introduced around the junction and a bus stop clearway has been installed on Berry Hill Lane, as shown on drawing number H/CLW/4937/01.
