TRO 4323 BROOMHILL ROAD, HUCKNALL - PROPOSED LIMITED WAITING BAY AND BUS STOP CLEARWAY

Opens 10 Dec 2025

Closes 7 Jan 2026

Overview

Via East Midlands Ltd, is working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver highway services in Nottinghamshire. Concerns have been raised about all day parking in the layby adjacent to the bus stop clearway and outside the shops on Broomhill Road, Hucknall.  This layby is currently unrestricted and vehicles are parking all day which is impacting the local businesses.

To address this issue, it is therefore proposed to introduce a ‘Limited Waiting Bay, All Vehicles, 30 Minutes, No Return within 1 Hour. The advert will be published in the Mansfield and Ashfield Chad and notices will be displayed on site.

It is also proposed to introduce a new 19 metre Bus Stop Clearway to be in operation 7am – 7pm on the opposite side of Broomhill Road outside the Broomhill Public House as

The proposals are shown on drawing number H/JDC/5283/01.

The County Council works closely with all public transport operators across the County to identify bus stops that suffer from inconsiderate parking. At the location above, a bus stop clearway is proposed that prohibits other vehicles from parking or waiting at any time at this bus stop, this will be clearly identified with new road markings and signage. The main benefits of bus stop clearways are to:

  • Help the bus align with the kerb to enable better access for disabled passengers and pushchair users;
  • Ease congestion as a correctly aligned bus will not block the road for other road users;
  • Ensure that bus drivers discharge their duty to drop passengers off on the kerb and not on the road;
  • Ensure that bus services operate on time and are not unnecessarily delayed.
This activity will open on 10 Dec 2025. Please come back on or after this date to give us your views.
