TRO 5385 - ABBEY ROAD AND MARLBOROUGH ROAD, BEESTON - PROPOSED DOUBLE YELLOW LINES AND RAISED PLATEAU

Overview

Via East Midlands Ltd is working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver highway services in Nottinghamshire. Concerns have been raised regarding rat-running, speeding and repeated instances of vehicles over-shooting the Give Way markings at the junction of Abbey Road and Marlborough Road, Beeston.

To help address this issue, it is therefore proposed to install a raised plateau across the junction with ramps on and off all approaches. This measure is intended to reduce vehicle speeds on the approach to the junctions and improve safety for drivers.

To assist the traffic calming measures, it is also proposed to extend the ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restrictions (Double Yellow Lines) on Abbey Road and Marlborough Road, Beeston, as shown on drawing number 2450328-VIA-HGN-AR01-DR-CH-001.
