TRO 8380 SEALED EXPERIMENTAL NO RIGHT TURN ORDER - RUGBY ROAD, WEST BRIDGFORD

Closed 30 Sep 2024

Opened 28 Mar 2024

Overview

Concerns have been raised by local residents regarding extensive queuing on Rugby Road when turning right into the Household Waste Recycling centre (HWRC). In order to help address their concerns, it is proposed to introduce an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order (ETRO) No Right Turn prohibition, for traffic travelling westbound turning right into the recycling centre.

The proposed measures prevent road users that are wanting to enter West Bridgford HWRC whilst heading west along Rugby Road from queuing on the highway.

The location and details of the restrictions are shown on the enclosed drawing (H/SLW/4581/01).

The ETRO would be introduced for up to 18 months with evaluation being carried out during the first 12 months of this period to enable the council to gather further traffic data and people’s views of the scheme to determine the impact of the changes along the road. The experimental NO Right Turn prohibition will enable the effect on driver behaviour to be quantified; to identify whether queing is  removed or relocated. It will also provide an opportunity to identify any unforeseen consequences of the prohibtion and to quantify these.
