TRO 8439 ADVERT - WOLDS DRIVE, KEYWORTH - PROPOSED DOUBLE YELLOW LINES AND ZEBRA CROSSING
Overview
Via East Midlands Ltd, is working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver highway services in Nottinghamshire. Concerns have been raised regarding inconsiderate and obstructive parking along Wolds Drive, Keyworth, which is causing difficulties for both motorists and pedestrians. Parked vehicles are reducing visibility along the road and restricting the effective width of the carriageway, creating access issues, particularly for larger vehicles.
In addition the County Council have received request for a crossing to be installed to assist pedestrians accessing The South Wolds Academy. Keyworth Leisure Centre, Keyworth Library, shops and other amenities are also nearby.
Following these concerns, a feasibility survey was undertaken on Wolds Drive to identify the most appropriate location for a formal zebra crossing. The survey concluded that the preferred location is between Church Drive and Fairway.
To address this issue, it is therefore proposed to install a new zebra crossing and to introduce ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restrictions (Double Yellow Lines), a plan showing the extents of the ‘No Stopping or No Loading At Any Time’ restrictions (Zig-Zag lines) is attached (TP2620020) along with a copy of the site notice. The public notice will be published in the Nottingham Post and notices will be fixed on site.
