A638 LONDON ROAD, RETFORD - ADVERT - PROPOSED TOUCAN CROSSING
Overview
Via East Midlands Ltd is working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver highway services in Nottinghamshire. Nottinghamshire County Council as part of Active Travel England providing a linked LCWIP Network, (Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan) are proposing to install a signalised toucan crossing, on London Road, Retford at its junction with Goosemoor Lane. The proposed toucan crossing would improve pedestrian and cyclist accessibility as well as improving safety when crossing A638 London Road.
The proposed toucan crossing, will have a controlled area, indicated by lengths of zig-zag lines where parking, stopping and loading would be prohibited at all times.
As required under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (toucan crossing), I hereby enclose for your attention the statutory public notice stating the County Council’s intention to introduce the toucan crossing on London Road, Retford.
The public notice will be published in the Retford Times and notices will be fixed on site. A plan showing the extents of the ‘No Stopping or No Loading At Any Time’ restrictions (Zig-Zag lines) is attached (Drawing Number TP2350633/TS103) along with a copy of the site notice.
