BEACON HILL ROAD, NEWARK - PROPOSED PUFFIN CROSSING
Overview
Via East Midlands Ltd is working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver highway services in Nottinghamshire. Nottinghamshire County Council have received requests to install a puffin crossing on Beacon Hill Road, Newark, between Autumncroft Road and Lavender Way, which will make it safer for pedestrians crossing this busy road, especially in peak traffic times. A pedestrian survey was undertaken and indicated many movements across this road, given the high volume of traffic and the character of the road, it is considered appropriate to propose a puffin crossing at this location.
The proposed puffin crossing, will have a controlled area, indicated by lengths of zig-zag lines where parking, stopping and loading would be prohibited at all times.
As required under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (puffin crossing), I hereby enclose for your attention the statutory public notice stating the County Council’s intention to introduce the puffin crossing on Beacon Hill Road, Newark.
The notice will be published in the Newark Advertiser and notices will be fixed on site. A plan showing the proposed crossing is attached (Drawing Number TP2450497/TS103) along with a copy of the site notice.
