Overview

Via East Midlands Ltd, is working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver highway services in Nottinghamshire. The County Council has received complaints regarding the volume of HGV traffic in the Spalford Area, particularly regarding their use of unsuitable rural roads.  To address these concerns and prevent the use of the local highway network for HGV through-traffic it is proposed amend existing Weight Restriction Order to apply 24hrs at the following locations,

  • Sand Lane/Eagle Road/Spalford Road: From its junction with the A1133 to the county boundary between Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.  
  • Rabbithill Lane from its junction with Sand Lane to its junction with Spalford Lane.
  • Spalford Lane from its junction with Rabbithill Lane to the county boundary between Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

Exemptions will apply to vehicles requiring access to premises within the restricted lengths of roads. The proposals are shown on drawing number H/MN/3335/02

The existing 7.5T weight restriction in the Girton Area 7pm and 7am will remain unchanged.
