TRO 5365 ADVERT - WATNALL ROAD, NUTHALL - PROPOSED DOUBLE YELLOW LINES AND BUS STOP CLEARWAY
Overview
Via East Midlands Ltd, is working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver highway services.
Nottinghamshire County Council has received complaints of obstructive and inconsiderate parking along Watnall Road, Nuthall at its junction with Spencer Drive. This is causing visibility issues when entering and exiting this private access. To help alleviate the problems it is proposed to introduce double yellow lines (‘No Waiting At Any Time’) restrictions across the access to Spencer Drive. It is also proposed to introduce a new 19 metre Bus Stop Clearway to be in operation 24 hours as shown on drawing number H/JW/5058/01.
The County Council works closely with all public transport operators across the County to identify bus stops that suffer from inconsiderate parking. At the location above, a bus stop clearway is proposed that prohibits other vehicles from parking or waiting at any time at this bus stop, this will be clearly identified with new road markings and signage. The main benefits of bus stop clearways are to:
- Help the bus align with the kerb to enable better access for disabled passengers and pushchair users;
- Ease congestion as a correctly aligned bus will not block the road for other road users;
- Ensure that bus drivers discharge their duty to drop passengers off on the kerb and not on the road;
- Ensure that bus services operate on time and are not unnecessarily delayed.
Any objections should clearly state the reasons for the objections and should reach us in writing, either by letter or email, by 8th November 2025. If the objection cannot be resolved, it will be reported through the County Council’s procedures at the appropriate time.
