Active Travel Fund - Derby Road Cycle Route Consultation

Overview

Thank you for expressing an interest in the County Council’s proposed Active Travel Fund (ATF) Tranche 3 scheme. Nottinghamshire County Council has been successful in securing £4.6m from Tranche 3 of the Government’s Active Travel Fund. We would welcome your views on the proposed cycle scheme for A611 Derby Road, Mansfield.  

The proposed cycle scheme is for a new one-way protected cycle track on both the north and south side of Derby Road, between Cauldwell Road and A60 Nottingham Road. The proposed scheme will include improvements for pedestrians and cyclists at the junction of A60 Nottingham Road with Derby Road, and at the junction of Derby Road with Cauldwell Road. The proposals include constructing a combination of on-road and off-road protected cycle tracks, and the relocation and upgrade of existing footpaths to complement the cycle route proposals. A new Toucan crossing is proposed on Derby Road, to the west of the vehicular access to the Vision West Nottinghamshire College campus. The cycle route will run adjacent to the College campus and provide a link to connect existing walking and cycling infrastructure in the area.
