Moving traffic enforcement

Overview

Moving traffic offences in the county are currently enforced by Nottinghamshire Police. The Government has introduced new legislation which allows traffic authorities to apply to take on this enforcement through the use of traffic camera technology.

Nottinghamshire County Council has identified two locations in the county where these powers could be enforced. The locations are:

1. the junction of Radcliffe Road and Trent Boulevard, West Bridgford,
2. ASDA access off the B6166 Portland Street, Newark.

We are seeking comments from any interested parties regarding these proposals. All responses will be acknowledged and reported to the Cabinet Member for Transport and Environment before a decision is made on applying for the powers from the Department for Transport.

If any application is successful and the powers are granted, we will announce the start date for enforcement and issue warning notices in compliance with the legislation.
