Overview

Following complaints from hauliers and HGV drivers, vehicles are being parked for long periods during the day in the above lay-bys.  This is affecting HGV drivers who are exiting the M1 at J27 and looking for a space to take a mandatory rest-break from driving. It is proposed that Limited waiting (60 minutes, return prohibited within 1 hour, Mon-Sat 8am – 6pm) would increase traffic turnover in these lay-bys and enable HGV drivers to take their mandatory breaks.
